As a Health coach I can help you become aware of what your body already knows. Recognising feelings in your body such as tension, resistance, angst, ease, freedom and relaxation will help you identify what triggers these sensations and so what might be contributing to your symptoms.   As you become more self aware you’ll naturally start to tune into your body’s innate wisdom and learn what makes you feel positive, vital and energised and what, on the other hand exacerbates your symptoms or makes you feel sluggish or low.  The more understanding you have of yourself, the more expert you can become in knowing the best action you can take to look after your health and wellbeing.

There are numerous diets, exercise regimes, mindfulness programs, breathing techniques, sleep plans, supplements and many more that promise to transform our health.  Whilst there is science to support the benefits of many of these interventions, it’s unlikely that any one of them alone will be the silver bullet to better health.  I can help demystify the confusing and inconsistent messages of health and wellness by stripping health back to the basic requirements of what you (and all humans) need to survive, thrive and flourish.

Unfortunately, there is no 'one size fit's all’ solution to good health.   We are unique individuals whose bodies and minds are constantly adapting to the environment and experiences we expose them to.  Since no two humans have the same life experience, no two humans bodies or mind work the same.  

Coaches are skilled at asking the right questions and actively listening to find out what makes you... you!  I will not prescribe or dictate what you should be doing but rather I will combine my knowledge of health, behaviour and motivation with your unique story and together we'll customise an action plan that works for you.

Health coaches have a broad knowledge of the many dietary, lifestyle and behavioural patterns that can contribute to health and disease.  Rather than being specialists in one area of medicine (like a neurologist) or a specific type of treatment (like a physiotherapist) a health coach is able to see the bigger picture and consider health and wellbeing from a range of different perspective.  I can help you view your health through a wide lens so that you can consider how the various systems of your body,  your lifestyle, your thoughts, your beliefs and your life experience might be interacting and impacting on your health.

Health coaches are ‘change agents’.   I can teach you simple strategies to interrupt habits you want to break and to establish habits you want to grow.  Unhealthy behaviours are rarely about the behaviour itself but the feelings we get from doing the behaviour.  I can help you get curious about what feelings drive certain behaviours and use that information to break free of old habits and sow seeds of new ones.
